As you all might know, Common Sense was a pamphlet written by Thomas Paine. Common Sense presented the American colonists with an argument for independence from British rule at a time when the question of independence was still undecided. This blog will attempt to present arguments for a smaller more responsive government at a time I believe this approach is not being embraced.
I am depending upon the readers of this blog for their responses and suggestions on topics and to keep me on tract.

Texas Tom: I agree 100 percent with your interpretation of equality vs liberty and what it means to a citizen of the USA. I, too, an a Texas Conservative and am concerned about the direction of our government under the Obama Administration. I believe in small government, low taxes, and ample opportunity to do whatever you choose to do with old fashioned hard work and ambition. I do not believe in living beyond your means nor do I expect to make up the difference between what I have worked for to someone who does not have what I have due to circumstances beyond my control.
